He grew up in Millinocket and Ellsworth, Maine and graduated in the class of 1994 from Stearns High School in Millinocket. He graduated from Mt. Ida College in 1997 with and Associates degree in Science, and Walden University in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. He has been in the Funeral industry for over 12 years and a licensed director since 2000. Ben currently resides in Brewer with his wife Betsy and son Ethan, and has intentions of moving closer to his family here in Ellsworth with in the next year. Ben enjoys many outdoor hobbies, sports and especially spending time with his family.

michaelchapman@bragdonkelley.comMichael S. Chapman joined the staff at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home in December of 2005. He grew up in Dover, NH and graduated from the Somersworth High school in 1993. He attended Plymouth State College in Plymouth, NH studying Business for two years before transferring to New England Institute at Mt. Ida College and graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science in 1996. He was a licensed funeral director in the State of New Hampshire for 9 years before moving to Maine. Michael currently resides in Harrington with his wife, Cynthia Scally-Chapman and her son, Joseph L.P. Kelley. He is a member of the Milbridge Area Merchants Association and is active with Toys for Tots. He enjoys his Harley Davidson and fishing, camping, and hiking.

Amy Swinford

amyswinford@bragdonkelley.comAmy Swinford joined the staff at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes in June of 2004. She grew up in Indiana and graduated from high school in Anderson, Indiana in 1991. Amy received her B.A. in Anthropology from the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1997. In 2001, she received her Associates and Bachelors degrees in Mortuary Science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Amy worked as a licensed funeral director in Indiana until 2003 when she moved to Maine fulfilling a longtime dream. She is a resident of Machias. Amy is very involved in the rescue, welfare, and adoption of homeless animals and is an active supporter of several animal welfare organizations. Amy is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Maine Funeral Directors Association. She enjoys traveling, spending time on or near the water, camping, and photography.
